Mac and Windows System Switch
– Top: Mac (built-in power supply on)
– Middle: Default Windows (built-in power supply off)
– Bottom: Windows (built-in power supply off)
Note: The switch is located under the CAPS key
M1W barebone utilizes purple plate-mounted stabilizers, which effectively minimizes keycap wobbling. In addition, it also comes with a separate TPU Double-shot stabilizers to cater to the diverse preferences of users.
PORON Plate Foam
M1W is equipped with PORON plate foam, effectively reducing the noise generated by key switches, ensuring a purer and more comfortable tactile sound experience for the keyboard.
M1W utilizes a transparent PC plate to offer flexibility surpassing that of metal, while also reducing low-frequency resonance.
3mm PORON Case Foam
MonsGeek M1W has undergone an upgrade, transitioning to Poron case foam with superior elasticity compared to M1.
*Disclaimer: Using thicker foam may reduce flex, whether to include it or not is down to your personal preference
VHB Insulation Layer
A VHB insulation layer has been added to the bottom case in order to prevent any short-circuit issues. It’s rare for these issues to occur but we want to add extra protection.
Accessories to Play With
Extra teflon pads included for users who wish to perform a force break mod.
Extra tape for users who wish to perform a tape mod.
MonsGeek includes a default 3mm custom-made foam for a balanced feeling. Disclaimer: the foam will affect the overall sound profile and flex.

I am a budget keyboard enthusiast and ever since M1 released, I knew I'd get it one day as my first budget aluminium keyboard, and then M1W released. I ordered it and added the free POM plate.
I placed the order on Nov 8 and received the keyboard on Nov 17. Considering it found its way to me in Easter Europe all the way from China, the shipping time was quicker than I expected.
I used the POM plate, left all foams, put lubed Akko CS Lavender Purples and CandyShop keycaps I had from an earlier build. The result was great! Somewhat low-pitched and creamy, and a bit muted sound - which exactly what I wanted.
My only (minor) gripes:
- the case ping which resolves itself using the included teflon pads;
- warped spacebar wire in the included TPU stabilizers. Although I was surprised that the additional stabs kit was not screw-in, but another clip-in stabs (my fault for not reading through the included items but I thought it'd have the same screw-in stabs as M1). The pre-installed stabs were lubed generously and I left them for all non-spacebar keys, while I used the addtional Akko TPU stab for the spacebar, which I needed to straighten out the wire for. Afterwards it was okay;
- perhaps the biggest annoyance: the red LED under spacebar was constantly shining red. It means that the batteries are charging but even after leaving it to charge for hours, the LED still was glowing red (I even updated the kb using Akko's software). Since I don't use the wireless option, I simply unplugged the battery connector from the PCB and left it like that.
Another minor issue is a very general one which has been addressed in numerous review videos is that the 2.4 GHz dongle doesn't have a compartment inside the keyboard: you either have it plugged it in the computer, or you have it stowed away in your keyboard box. Not ideal if anyone wants to carry around this keyboard and use it wirelessly.
Still rating it 5-stars as the issues were minor. I think it is a great kit for the money and has a lot of additional stuff included to mod it the way you want.
M1W DIY KIT
One of the best on the market for sure right now. I do not give 5 star just for the software (monsgeek driver) that need improvements (no knob personalization, and lights setting a little bit uncomfortable to use). Hardware wise, great product. Solid, easy to mod and easy to build. Sounds very good.
This is a great keyboard for beginners who wants a Monsgeek M1, but also want it wireless. It was super easy to build and they really did a great job, but one thing to take notice is the stabilizers are bit on the low end, I recommend getting some screw in stabilizers Durock v2 with a bit of lube for those. one thing I thought I would get in the barebones was a switch puller, which I did not get so if you're planning on switching switches sometime then get one.
All in all a great keyboard with awesome mod compatability, i had no issue doing tape mod, and force break mod.
