What is Dynamic Keystroke? How to Set Up?

What is the Dynamic Keystroke (DKS) in Keyboard?

Dynamic Keystroke, short for DKS, is a powerful feature on magnetic, optical, or other keyboards. This feature supports achieving up to 4 operations for a single key, each triggered at different points during a keystroke: the start of the press, the end of the press, the release of the press, and the release of the entire key.

How Does Dynamic Keystroke Benefit Your Game?

In some games, you can use the DKS to achieve faster and more precise operations.

For example, in a first-person shooter game, players can quickly switch weapons or perform other operations by releasing the button, which is more convenient and efficient than the traditional button method and can gain certain advantages in the game.

How to Set Up Dynamic Keystroke with AKKO Driver?

1. Download the Akko Clound Driver

You can download the Akko Clound Driver from the Akko Download Center.

2. Set Up the Dynamic Keystroke

The first column activates when the key is initially pressed at 0.7 mm. (You can modify it by clicking on it.)

The second column corresponds to the key’s lowest actuation point at 3.5 mm.

The third column activates when the key returns to its resting position at approximately 3.5 mm.

The fourth column is triggered when the key reaches its highest actuation point at 0.7 mm.

For precise control, click the “+” icons within the grid to assign actions to specific points in the key’s travel. Each action will trigger once. To create a "hold" effect, drag the circle between two or more points, and the key will stay pressed between them. You can remove an actuation point by clicking the “+” again. Remember to click confirm when you're finished.

FAQ

Is dynamic keystroke banned by the game?

Now the dynamic keystroke is not banned; there are no official statements or specific rules about banning keyboards with dynamic keystroke. And CS2 banned a feature called SOCD (Synchronous Opposite Cardinal Directions).

Is dks a macro?

No, Dynamic Keystroke (DKS) is not a macro. DKS adapts the keystroke behavior based on pressure sensitivity, allowing users to fine-tune how their keyboard responds, but it doesn't automate actions or input sequences like a macro would.
